The Columbia UAEM chapter officially started this fall of 2005. During the spring, we have joined up with the AMSA UAEM at at Columbia Medical School, led by Matthew Alexander. We are engaged in an education campaign in an effort to rally support and membership in the various schools of Columbia.

The teach-in with Dr. Stiglitz on February 28th will be the first event of the campaign. From here, we hope to gain new momentum and enthusiastic members. We plan to work on getting faculty and administrator recognition of the UAEM Statement of Principles this semester as a leverage for speaking with Science & Technology Ventures, Columbia’s technology transfer office.
